Many patients travel from outside of Switzerland to University Hospital Basel specialists. To fully satisfy the requirements of international patients, the hospital has established International Services. This is a full-service department dedicated to meeting the needs of international patients who receive their care at our hospital.
At our department of International Services, we co-ordinate every aspect of the international patient's care, before, during and after their visit to our hospital. Our wide range of special services is designed to help international patients and families to feel comfortable, pleasant and stress-free during their stay.
Our personalized approach to service includes
- Evaluation of the patient's medical needs before his/her arrival
- Co-ordination of all appointments with physicians, medical record collections, and follow up appointments
- Pre-registration and co-ordination of the admission process
- Support for the medical visa application by working with the Swiss embassies or consulates in your country
- Financial and billing arrangements including price offer in advance
- Interpreting Services for language assistance to families throughout their medical journey, medical consultations, exams, and medical or surgical procedures
- Special meals that honor dietary requirements
- Phone and internet lines in patient rooms
- Hotel arrangements for patients and their families
